    EMM removal help

    hi there

    i have a 2002 virage txi that i am removing the emm to send to dfi for a rebuild. my question is the large plug on the back side of it has no pins to squeeze to remove the plug that i can see. i have the bracket un bolted and the cooling lines and front two plugs unhooked. i just cant seem to remove the large on on the back. can any one help me out??

    next time you can find what you need with a simple search....plenty of Polaris info here

    there is a 5mm allen screw in the middle of the connector that holds it in place. First time removers ALWAYS run into the problem...

    careful not to drop your wrench in the hull.

    There is a single hex socket machine screw in the center of that big 40-pin EMM connector. It is awkward to get at and it is easy to drop the hex key tool under the fuel tank Stuff some work rags or a towel underneath to hopefully catch the tool when you drop it.

    5/32" hex socket head screw if my memory serves.

    The screw itself is a captive type that should not fall out. Once you have the screw loosened a few turns wiggle the big connector out part way, then continue to undo the screw.
