I guess anything can be done with enough machining, making parts to work and modding, But i think it will be very pricey and not worth it.

The ultra's are based of Kawi's zx14 motor and yamaha's mr1 is based off the r1 motor however it would be pointless. Modern waverunner motors come from the factory with more horsepower than modern street bikes.

Its possible, I've thought about it myself.....It be light....But exhaust would be tricky, along with COOLING....Don't even think about an air cooled motor, have to be fluid cooled with a heat exchanger, since lake water would be too cold...Would have to beef up the internals MAJORLY because of the constant load from the pump...

It would be a interesting project for a well skilled guy to tackle! We actually have a wrecked r1 at our Yamaha dealership that my family owns. It could be picked up very cheap. We also have a place near us that has a auction every month for repossed items such as motorcycles, cars, skis and other objects a friend of mine picked up a 2009 sho for $2500 dollars that was repossed from a drug dealer! The ski had 28 hours on it!!

VX Yami has an R1 motor renamed as the M1 motor with an underive box and is far from coming close in the performance category

Out of couriousity if it is based off of the same motor what cause the r1 motor to rev to 14000k and the Vxr motor to only 7700 without exploding??
