05 rxp stage 1
i finally got everything installed and teted it out. i was not please with the 800 dollar upgrade. i still do around 65 top speed, which i was doing before. i was running at 65 for about a mile and the overheated light starting flashing..so i shut it down. i added a 20 ounce bottle of water and it seem to do find the rest of the day. my engine temp stay around 89 , is that normal. Even when the temp light came on the engine said 91. any help would be gretly appreciated..if you would like to text or call...9106447705, im chris.

The temperature shown in the cluster as "E Temp" is exterior temperature, not engine temperature. "L Temp" is lake temperature. Overheat problems can be caused by poor water flow to the exhaust. If your top speed didn't change you might have a problem somewhere. You say 65 mph, GPS or as shown on the speedo? The oil level is correct? good spark plugs?

ohhh i thought it meant engine temp..dang i am a newbie. i ps before the upgrade and it was with in 2 tenths what the what the speedometer said,..its pretty acurate. my rpms are only getting to around 7950..they use to reach 8100. any ideas on what to look for on exhaust retrictions on water flow..thanks for your help

We need to know the following...
Where are you located?
Even if its a Stage 1, what items are installed?
Pictures would help...of the intake setup, grate setup, etc...

I installed a the riva intake pipe and kn filter, riva intake grate, new wear ring/solas concord prop and inch wedge. the ski has 164 hours on it...it blew off the water pipe a few weeks ago that was attatched to the ride plate..it didnt seem to do any damage..i then changed all clamps. the sc has been rebuilt to 08 specs about 5 hours ago. the ski would get to 8100 rpms before i did the install of the new kit. i now get to 7950 on avergae. i put new plugs in 15 hours ago. i live near myrtle beach , so its close to sea level. i ride in the cape fear river mainly..its fresh water. i ran it hard for like a mile and half yesterday and it starting flashing over heating..i shut it down and added 20 ounces of water and it hasnt had cooling peroblems since. i am now flushing the cooling system. i will flush out the cleaner tomorrow and refill to proper levels.

Basically, you installed an impeller and now your RPMs are slightly off and speed never got better with stage 1. I say it's just your impeller that needs some fine tuning (have the pitch tweaked).
