98' XL760 Won't power on
I'm working on this 98' Yamaha XL760 and can't seem to figure it out. It won't power on at all and I'm not sure if I should check the start switch or I also saw in the manual it has a "lighting solenoid", but I'm not sure if that is in the right direction. What's the easiest? Check for power at the ign switch?

Try this first: with the batter connected and the lanyard in place push the "Mode" button. I had this exact same issue last week after disconnecting the battery. After pushing the Mode button, it may say "Code". If it does...try pushing the "A" button 4 times and it will likely say "Start". Report back if this works!

Sorry it took me so long to reply but YES it did work! Thank you very much. I had to press the "MODE" button along with the "A" and "B" button simultaneously, but because of your suggestion I just started playing around with the dash and it responded.

Re: 98' XL760 Won't power on
should only have to hold down the mode button for it to ask for the code
