DI Brains - How do you check the CB shaft oil?

I'm working on an 02 GTX DI and just noticed that the owner's manual and shop manual both require a check of the counter balance shaft oil at 50hrs or 6 months. The only thing I can find is a note in the bottom end section that says to fill the cavity with 40ml of gear oil at assembly.

So is there a drain plug or a fill port somewhere for this 50 hr check? How do you know if it needs oil? I thought all 2 strokes used injection oil to lube the bottom end, but not this thing, I guess...

Thanks. I'm a newbie to Seadoos and picked a good one to learn on......

The oil in this cavity is to lube the gears for the counter balance shaft. There is a fitting on the stbd side of the engine down very low (below the exhaust mount). That is where you check it. This oil should never get low. If it does you have a seal problem.

Thanks. Is there a dipstick on that fitting or is it a "fill it 'till it overflows" thing?

    Fill it full.

Just be thankful that you have the big body GTX. Checking this oil on an older smaller ski, like on the RXDI, is a total bitch as it is really hard to get at that filler plug. You have a lot more room on your ski....
