    Riva Inter cooler Test

I've looked on GH and couldn't find a way to test an inter cooler without taking it out of the ski.

So I came up with the following Idea.
Bought a pressure gauge at the local hardware store some 1/2 inch barbs with 1/4 inch thread and end caps that screw on the barbs.
    about 40$

And as I expected, When I came back in the morning the Gauge dropped 10 PSI.
So lesson learned Don't buy stuff from the classified section on this website because there are people on here that will sell you broken shit just to make a quick buck.
This is the second item I got stuck with out of the 2 that I bought here.

When I opened up the J pipe there was a bunch of water in it. And when I took the inter cooler out of the ski it was completely wet inside.

That's a good idea but do you think any of the lost 10psi can be attributed to the extra connections from the testing equipment? I would test another intercooler with the same testing method and equipment to compare the results.

**EDIT Actually I just reread ur first post and saw you found water. Guess your right, damn sorry you got a busted part...

I actually tough I would have that problem but I didn't I was amazed that nothing else leaked except for the intercooler that wasn't supposed to leak at all.
I also tought is nothing leaked and I wouldn't loose pressure at all I would have tested more than just the intercooler.

Yeah if you are certain the intercooler was bone dry before the test and then you found water after the test you definitely found your problem.

    Whipe this whole Thread!!

Like I said in the edited first post when I took the J pipe off it was completely wet inside.
When I ran the engine with the J pipe off, lots and lots of water sprayed out.
So I decided to take the inter cooler out and since it was shot I went to riva and picked up a gen 2.
Good in one way because a gen 2 is allot bigger (good for the future!!)

So I gave my intercooler to someone that would test it for me so they plugged the barbs put 130PSI of air pressure un the thing and submerged it in a bucket.
    Guess what!!!!!

    NO AIR BUBBLES anywhere!!

Great so that inter cooler is good!! And I really didn't have to buy the GEN2 (but i like it anyway)

But where the heeeeelllllll did all that water come from.
Could it be that much water from the condensation of the 100% Florida humidity!!??
I can't believe that it was just tooo much water!

Please Shed some light on this GH experts.
