R&D anti cavitation cone - application

just wondering what the R&D cav cones actual application is meant to be... are they suit for pump wedges?
is there actually any point in me even having it there over the standard unit?
im running a 2" riva pump extension 15/22 prop 137 et charger.

im considering removing mine just because i cant see how it could be of any gain at all? if anything it would be off setting the thrust of the pump???
