    error code CHAr on 260x

What does the error code CHAr mean on the 2009 Kawi 260X? What should be done to determine the cause and (hopefully the solution) of the problem? It appears to be a cooling issue since it stops after sitting and starts again when (warmed up) riding.
Around 40-45 mph it has a "hiccup" when accelerating.

Also, what should be the top speed on a 250X and a 260X (are they the same)?
    Thanks,

    64-67 mph, both similar.

The sensor is around the back of the intercooler, i have seen the wires break on a friends ski and came up with the same fault code. Have a look as the wire is quite thin and prone to breaking if the loom stresses on it.

Got the FI CHAr code on 260 today. Ski goes into 5 mph limp for a while, then back to normal then back to limp. Not that hot today, less than 80. Bad sensor maybe?

Maybe no oil /silicone grease in sensor cavity......or blocked waterflow threw cooler

Last weekend, ski was surging from 5mph to 60+, back and forth. But, no code, no alarm. I thought belt was slipping. I found a gouge in hose that was spraying water on belt so I thought I had two related problems. No time to replace hose so I wrapped hose tight in "rescue tape," and went for test spin. Tape is holding and no leak. But, after about 10 minutes, ski goes limp and gives FI--CHAr. Its an odd cycle. Putter along at 5 for a few minutes, but then random pull of trigger and back to full speed for a while. But, before too long, back to limp.

so you need to replace the sensor, check the connections or maybe this http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=787

are you 100% sure the s/c rotor coating hasnt started to peel off and is filling the i/c with it?
