???? On 2000 RX seadoo Is it worth this?

Guys I have a line on a 2000 rx seadoo carbed model.
It has low compression in the rear cylinder. 45p.s.i
He also confirmed it wasn't from flushing. He said he turns hose on after motor running then hose off then motor off.
It is otherwise a very clean ski.

    Comes with trailer
    cover
    2 life vest
    tube
    ski
    oil
    Clear titles.

Do ya'll think it is worth it?
    its $1800

Hull is very nice never beached,
His mech stated it was water injestion.
He said he ran it on the hose 5 mins after his ride and the next time it
wouldn't start and he found out this.

    WORTH IT
    OR NOT?

I have built one other RX.

    and worked on 20 951's.......

Well it sounds like if it was water ingestion then you need a whole new motor due to rust that has probably built up. That is most likely a job for SBT. Their 951 motor with a 1 year warrenty is $1,100. Subtract this from the base price of a used RX which is $3,700 according to blue book value, and he should be asking around $2,600 for it. The RX is a great ski! I have a 2001 model and it is loads of fun. If the price is right, i say go for it!

$1,800 is a pretty good price (not really a steal) since you can rebuild the motor yourself. I don't really care for the RX hull but it really depends on what you want to use it for. Decent 2 up ski and good for pulling wakeboard & skiers.

Well it would be for me to have around for my sons friends, so they would stay off his RXP and then maybe sell at the end of summer for some extra cash.

A top end is about $60 to hone the cylinder and just the pistons.

So around $200-$300 bucks, but I bet it needs a CB and crank.
