    02 RX-DI Water Pressure Regulator‎ issue

I discovered a hole in the bladder of my Water Pressure Regulator and there were traces of leakage down the side of it. My question is : How important is this Regulator and why. Could this be a reason my rpms are down 800 to 900? The manual says.....

I have a DI that is down about 300 rpm's. I looked at mine and I have a hole just like yours but it does not look warn through. I am going to permatex it anyways and re-install. I will let you know how mine goes. To answer your question, yes, it can be a cause of lost rpm's. Not sure how much it can effect it. 8-900 sounds like a big bunch.

Thanks for the input. I did the same thing and plan to test tomorrow.I'm also going to check to see if my rave valves are opening(with the rivet through the cap trick) cuz somethings got this engine runnin funky.

Well, ive had a bit of a problem with my rpms dropping, whenever I replaced the diaphragm with a new one.. seems like if the valve wont close, then the water to the tuned pipe is kept up in volume.. which would cause the rpms loss.. whats puzzling me though, is that before, the diaphragm wasnt even close to operable, and i hit 6850-6900 rpms all day long.. when it should have kep tthe valve open and the water flowing through the exhaust all the time..

yeah, I've seen this particular failure more than a few times..it's that metal clip that typically holds the rubber in place. just patch it with some "right stuff" and use a zip tie on it..problem solved.

I tested with the Water Pressure Regulator bladder patched and confirmed that the rave valves were opening @ 5300 rpms but I still can not break 6000 rpms...back to the drawing board.

    What to test next?

block off the water hose to the tuned pipe for a couple of minutes and see if it hits rpms, just to eliminate the water regulator problem.. ??

Do this and you will burn your couplers out in 20 seconds.

    Roundtop,

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Check your fuel pressure. It should be at 107 psi under normal operation past idle.
