How fast can a non s/c 4 tech go?

If yamaha can get there VXR with no supercharger to run near 70 - what would it take to make a 155 4 tech close?

    Has anyone done it?

Just curious as season in Minnesota is winding down and I have a NA 4 tech and need a winter project (I already have a 82+ RXP)

    Might be fun.

    Thaks for the input

Stock 155's only go about 56mph. It will take a bit to get it to 70. You will easily get it over 60 with air intake, intake grate and prop.

I'm wondering the same thing Tim.... I've got a 2012 GTX 155 and it always runs 54-56. I once saw 57 on the GPS speedo in perfect conditions. I would be happy with a consistant 60. I too would like to make some minor / reliable up-grades to get there. I've looked at the air intake filter and grate, BUT my GTX has the newer S3 hull, and I can't find any grate listings for my year and hull..... Anyone ?

If you have the s3 hull for sure then get the R&D grate for the rxtx

V tech says he has a client in greece (GTX 155) with a flash - but didn't provided any details.

Just thought it might be fun to play with one - I have an 03 sitting around -

Would like to know what (where) the horsepower curve looks like - If you could even spin it up to 8300RPM and make more horsepower - maybe it's limited by the CAM - The ECU is easy to adjust

    Thansk Guys

Tim, I did read where a customer in South America I think gained 2 mph on a NA 4tec by dropping in a Torx racing cam. 70 might not be easy, and it depends on how much money you choose to throw at it, but a cam, ecu, some tuning, then prop swapping to get rpms up to take advantage of the cam and ecu will definitely get you some mph. There is also speed in swapping to a Riva/SF/Jim's ride plate too ... maybe 5+ mph with cam/ecu/motor tweaks, then possibly up to 3 mph with good ride plate ... just guessing. Good luck, it would be an interesting project.
