Sea Doo Sport Boat Message Getting Out of Business.

    Valcourt, September 14, 2012
    Dear friends,
Earlier today, we announced our decision not to resume production of Sea-Doo
® sport boats forthe upcoming model year and take steps to exit that business over the next coming months. At BRP, we manage a diversified product portfolio and our sport boat line-up accounts for a smallshare of our total sales. This decision will allow us to focus our efforts on products with greatergrowth potential, which is in the best long-term interests of the company and our network. With the recent downturn in the marine industry, we cannot foresee growth potential in the sportboat business, making it difficult to justify any additional investment. After careful consideration,we concluded that it was better for us to exit the business. This was a very difficult decision, especially given the impact on our employees in Benton(Illinois) and Palm Bay (Florida), the impact on a select group of dealers and distributors, andconsidering the efforts we made as a company creating the sport boat business. We understandthat this decision may have an impact on your business, but for those of you who would like tocontinue selling boats, we will put you in contact with boat builders who use Evinrude outboard
    engines.

Yea that sucks hard. What do you think this will due to the value of these boats? Maybe be able to pick up a leftover '12 in early '13 for dirt cheap...

The only 13's they made for the dealer meeting and r&d puposes will be destroyed....We still dont know what BRP is going to do for us dealers who still have 2012 product left...Some of us dealers have multiple boats and that could be a serious cash flow problem...Think of how much floor plan money that will take every month till you sell a non exsistant product??????

We still have a 2012 210SE, trying to figure out what to price it at so it goes......
