    Removing Rocker Cover

I just have a few questions on this. My rocker cover seems to have some oxidation on it. What can I use to clean this off. I was thinking a drill with a wire brush and if not some sand paper. Also I was reading in the service manual, that the gasket (#3) needs to be replaced is this necessary ? Also do I need to silicone the two lobes. If yes what type of silicone do I need to use. Thanks.

I would replace the gasket... I have always used Honda bond for these style of gaskets.

Personally I would put some type of finish on it that will not get bad again
