    1996 Polaris Hurricane. Rochester

I bought this ski from a friend, and is by far the cleanest Hurricane I have ever seen. Unfortunatly I need a igntion update kit. It backfires and wont go over 3000rpm. Motor was completly rebuilt with good compression Crank index, and phase were both checked..

    That is clean!

Where do you normally drop in the water? Lake or bay?

Thank you! I mostly do Keuka, and Canandaigua. I have had a few Polaris skis in the past but always had bad luck with them. I'm skeptical of this machine, but cannot resist a clean gem like this.

Dont be skeptical. DO all the required maintenance and get the right ignition parts. You will have a blast

Are you sure it needs an update kit? Be careful the back firing could blow out a crank seal. I know when mine ignition system went it would run fine for 3 to 5 minutes at a time and then would die. No Spark! half hour later it would run fine again for another 3 to 5 minutes. The stator would get hot and stop working. The tests are posted here somewhere. Easiest thing to do is open up the electric box and see if it has the update coil and CDI or not.

yes im sure. The CDI and coil have original part numbers. The dio was a bad stator. I have not run it since the tests. Water tested it the first day i got it, wouldnt go more than 3000 rpm or 10mph, acted like clogged carbs. drove it out 50 feet and turned it right back in to lift.

well the cool thing about the hurricane is you can change it without pulling the engine out.
