I think the stock grate is best for flat water.

Cheers Bryan. Bryan there's not much I can do to this thing, is there? Just want a quick 3 or 4 mph if possible? What about a aftermarket waterbox ? Any ideas? What would you be doing to it?

If you're riding flat water almost exclusively, think about an Ocean Pro rideplate, 6* wedge, and cutting the rear most section off your stock sponsons. I would leave the intake grate stock for flat water.

    Stock sponson mod:

ditto on what crazy said for smooth water.keep the 4 wedge and maybe get a 650 grate.the 650 grate might cost you .5 mph on smooth water but will help in chop, the 4 wedge will be better in chop.
