Exclamation GTI SE 155 vs. STX-15f vs. FX H.O.

I'm looking to buy my first ski and cant decide. I'll spend 99% on lakes and rivers...no ocean going for me. Looking for something with about 160HP with no turbo or supercharger. Any recommendations?

the 15F or the GTI SE 155 is my recommendation

those are your best bangs for the buck... the Yami FX HO is higher priced, large, heavy, stable.... the 15F and GTI SE will handle better and be more playful.

15F and GTI SE.... 160HP vs 155 HP ....MSRP in the low-mid 9k range... both machines being in the 60mph range

for river and lake riding like you are doing, the Yamaha FX HO will be a big large pig, while the other machines will be more nimble to kind of throw around and beat on and have fun and get wet wehn u want to

I've ridden the FX HO, the 15F... have not yet ridden the 155 GTI since it's a new machine for this year, but have ridden the GTI 130 and GTX 155... i can assume what to expect from the 155 GTI....

so my vote goes for the GTI SE 155 or the 15F....

The Yamaha is a bit too expensive in my opinion. They need to build a base sport model for under 10K. The FX seems to be more of a luxury liner than a play toy.

I love the looks of the Kawasaki (Nocturn Blue makes me think of Harry Potter) and I think it would be a blast to ride from what I've read on these message boards. The design is a bit old school and it just looks like something from the 90s. I'm nott too sure about the fit and finish from what I've seen.

The Sea-Doo is really modern looking and seems to have high build quality. I've seen an 06 GTI and liked it pretty good.....not real sure how the gray/yellow paint scheme will look though.

Right now I'm leaning more towards the Kawa over the Sea-Doo...mainly because of the dealers in the area....plus I'm worried that the Sea-Doo might be a gas hog. I'm sure that I'll forget all about some of the old school design features when I get out on the water. What does everyone else think? Agree or disagree?

PS. Thanks for welcoming me to the forum Shibby!

Welcome Bama, From what you say your looking for in a ski, sporty, around 160hp,no turbo or supercharger, less expensive than the others, I would say you want a GPR . Although I gather from your choices it has to be a 3 seater as well? 4 stroke?

You probably cant go wrong with any of the skis you mentioned. The best way to decide is to sit on them and see which one your butt likes the best. Then your wallet. Then (if married) your wifes butt.

    I think I've decided. I'm going with the 15f.
