    gp760 piston rings

i took apart the motor to replace the base gasket, and now cant get the cylinders(sleeves) past the rings on the pistons. is there some trick to getting this back on? admittedlyi only gave it a half hearted attempt. any instructions or tips would be appreciated.
    thanks

You could use a ring compressor or some people use large, long zip ties to hold the rings in. Then just cut the ties after the piston is up in the cylinder.

i think i can dig up some large zipties. so youd just wrap around the piston and ring, tighten it down then hopefully it slides over the rings and ties?

It'll push the ties away as you stuff the piston in the cylinder. Another good technique is to round up a buddy to help. 4 hands are better then 2
