    Rejetting

I know I saw this somewhere but can't find it for the life of me...

my mikuni 38mm carbs are going to get a rebuild and rejet to accomodate the premix and pro785 CDI, and 92 dry pipe I have for my 780 engine.

not sure what the current jets are or what I have to rejet too. I also hope to get that pentagon pump on ebay...if so would that make a difference what I rejet to, and if I don't get it, I'll go with the regular mikuni triple outlet.

    oh...where do I get jets...watcon?

    Thanks guys as always...

    Mark

I'm always able to get what I need through my local dealer, but Al always recommends this place:

I too usually get the jets locally. any place that sells yamaha, polaris, seadoo or tigershark parts will have them. Kawi dealers are hit or miss because they mostly use keihin carbs.

as far as what jets to go with. . . that's not so easy. Unless someone has the exact same setup as you and runs in very similar temps and altitudes, you could blow your motor by taking there jetting. Your best bet is to start high and work your way down while monitoring the tach and pistion wash.

Here's a little tidbit: I started on my yamaha in early august last year, and it was close by november when I put it to bed for the winter. I was working on it almost every weekend.

I feel dumb but I don't know what piston wash is...I'm guessing how wet the piston is?
