Unhappy 2004 rxp Rough take off

I put in a new wear ring and a repitched impeller from that other site.
When I was at Norris Lake last year. When installing thenew impeller it went in real tight. From the first time giving it gas it would act like it was...crap can't think of the word. It was shaky out of the hole for about the first 5 seconds. Everything else seemed fine except for hole shots. My top end seemed a little slower also. It was fine before I replaced the impeller and wear ring. Could a bad pitch do this? Or could it be some thing else?

Is it cavitation on your holeshot?

If so, the problem lies in the pump. Excessive clearance between the prop and wear ring perhaps?

Sounds the same as if it had some seaweed in the impeller housing.Something about that wear ring or new impeller isnt right, obviously.Try putting the old impeller back in and see what happens.

Could also be the pump seal not fitting up properly when pump was put back on.

Cavitation, that's the word I couldn't remember. When I put the impeller on it was tight tight to the wear ring. I'll remove it when it warms up out here and look at the seal. Thanks

No sealant. just a rubber seal. you should clean the seal and the pump mating surface with windex and install it it dry. I torque mine to 28-30 ft. lbs

I have that. Thought someone said to use Permatex RTV on it.
