1997 seadoo challenger 800cc
Hello, I'm Dusty im new to the pwc world. I just bought a house on a canal lot, so I decided it was time to get a seadoo. I had an old Ford pickup I traded for a 1997 seadoo challenger 800cc. The boat looks new and obviously was well taken care of. Just to be safe I took it to my local seadoo mechanic and they gave it a full tune up and told me compression was fine. After having a little trouble getting it started in the water I got it to get up to about 40mph. The thing I don't like is that it accelerates up to plane really slow and Im pretty sure if I have more people in the boat with me it's gonna be real bad. So my question is what are my options to get more torque outta the engine, I like the boat , but if it would make more sense to sell it and get something newer I wouldn't be against that either. I was wondering if it would be worth finding a newer motor for it or some sort of supercharger.
*After further research I found that I can buy a new Premium 787 motor for about $1200 with a core. Would this be a good option? Or would this motor still be weak?
