what wear ring would you recommend

I am replacing my stock wear ring on my 05 fxho. My mechanic has recommended replacing it with one that has a replaceable plastic liner. What are your thoughts? Original, solid SS, or one with a plastic wear ring? I am a recereational user who puts about 30 hours a year on the ski. Thanks in advance for your input.

The stock one is not plastic, but you can get a plastic one. They are all over ebay.

The plastic wear rings are fine for stock, But remember all it takes is one shell or a rock to go thru and it's done it will chew the plastic liner all up.
