    Long Blade vs Short Blade

Is there really going to be any difference in performance between the long blade and short blade props? I just realized on my '98 Pro 785 that the Skat Trak 12/17 is a short blade. I'm going to take what Jeff recommended and go with it. He suggested a 10.5/16.5 but with a long blade for racing. I'm no longer concerned about top end on this boat now and more with acceleration since the race bug has bitten me.

depends on the stator.once you get into higher #'s like 17/22 l/b won't work on a 6 vane unless you space it out.

the taller hub props are suppose to be the best for the 785's for some reason

Polaris did the "short blade" props so that there would be a little more space between the trailing edge and the stator vanes. This was done to make a little more space for rocks and pebbles to pass thru without damaging parts. Something for the masses that don't know much about "make sure it's in 2 ft of water before you start it." The long blade props are more efficient than the shorties.

I'm still pretty confused on how to tell the difference between the LB and SB. I still have the one from Jeff that I will be sending out shortly to have rebent, but I also have two others that I might have rebent too and one repaired...but I can't tell what is what.
