    My Home Depot strainer

i remembered way back that if i ever needed a replacement strainer i'd try this for the 12 bucks and a couple fittings. The "ball valve" is for towing on bad days. Funny.....i haven't had to use it at all , anyway i wanted to share it .

Yea, I put on on my cousin's ski, and it leaked around the connections...Its meant for water pressure from your house, which is far less than the pump makes...

The water pressure for households in the USA is 60 to 75 lbs per square inch depending on where you live. I have used the Home Depot filter on several skis thru the years on many Sea-Doos (have two right now with these filters and none have ever leaked a drop of water.) You are set up with everything you need for 20 bucks and no plastic fittings.

just my opinion but that ball valve is a bad idea. someone will eventually forget to open it and then its a big problem. or it can get turned by accident.
we all think "nah i wont forget..."
but it happens, like you want to flush your ski, you turn on water (even though you know your not supposed to) then you go to put key on post, no beeps!! oops forget battery was already unhooked, rush to put battery back in.
already forgot water was on, now you got a flooded ski.
it happens all the time, ball valve is too easy and too permanent for a water shut off , when overheat can do so much damage so quickly.
