    What Coolant to run?

I am going to change my Coolant out on my '04 RXP and wasn't exactly sure what it takes. Dealer told me that they use the Honda Green Coolant. Would that work or is there a better brand? Thanks Guys

Doesnt matter, as long as it is green and a 50/50 mix

    Prestone 50/50 works perfect

Now this is a very interesting question! I only run my SeaDoo at sea salty waters this is way I don't want an open loop system. So as for my closed loop use Cooland I did a big research only for Coolants, after lots of test and all most all brands "Repsol Pure" Coolant was the best to use Hard to get heat and faster cool down!

Actually... the more water you can mix with your AF, the better the cooling will be. At least that's what I've always been taught:

The standard recommendation is to use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water. This represents a compromise between cooling efficiency and the ability to prevent the mix from freezing during cold weather. After all, the initial purpose of antifreeze is to prevent freezing.

But a 50/50 mix does not give the best cooling. For improved cooling in hot weather, we should use less antifreeze and more water, perhaps going to a 25/75 or a 20/80 mix ratio.

Everyone knows antifreeze prevents corrosion, and corrosion is bad. True enough. But, even a 10/90 ratio of antifreeze to water will serve the puproses of inhibiting corrosion.

    Informative video:

Vman, You are right but this have a rust effect on the engine, the Repsol coolant have a mixture ratio of more water then coolant and it's thick liquid . So +1

I think a 60/40 or 70/30 mix would be plenty to prevent corrosion and winter freeze up depending on your particular climate, while at the same time improving cooling properties. Distilled water helps also and is all I would recommend.

Or you can get special already mixed Mercury Coolant that was made especially for Marine purpose.
Mix it with distilled water if it never get below freezing temp!
I have the bottle at home, but to lazy to swap coolant and see if it actually increase engine temp.

By the way, what is the coolant capacity for the 2012 PX?

    thanks

5.5 L / 5.8 US Qts. The book says this is "total" capacity... probably won't get that much out just doing a coolant change.
