Thread: Any Ideas?

Couple weeks my dad went out on our '00 GP12R and he said it died on him. Then he couldn't get it to plain.
This was the case three years ago when we ended up needing to basically rebuild the top end.
I finally had a chance to get into the engine and take a look, and found this at the bottom of the ski. I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't look good. Part of the crankshaft maybe??

yup, looks like part of the crank case, if you have a mirror you can check under the exhaust header see if there is a larger hole

Could it be part of the intermediate bearing housing,if it were the crank case one side would most likely be black, but I can only see one side,I know when I blew a small hole in my case it wouldn't even run due to no pressure to pump fuel, regardless I would pull the engine to determine where it came from
