Arrow 2002 Polaris Freedom 700, no spark

    Hi,
I have an 02 polaris freedom 700, that I just bought, it has no spark
or very weak spark.... i put a spark tester light on it and couldn't see it light up
also when i gounded it to engine, i didn't see a spark, but when i had spark tester in my hand i could feel spark

compression on engine is 145, so that is good
    turns over fine, no fire
battery is new and charged up
i tested wire to cdi from battery and its good

tried the test talked about above and not sure if i am used multimeter correctly but when i connect to brown wire, and crank engine over i am not getting 7-9 VDC
maybe i am doing something wrong??
tried the 9v battery test also and am not getting any spark

not sure whether i need a stator.... most likely or cdi
don't want to spend lots guessing on electrical parts

    Welcome

    Ohm tests on the stator?

Battery voltage AT THE CDI while cranking? Must be OVER 10.6 volts at the CDI while cranking.

I tried to ohms test... maybe i don't know how to do it correctly
I was getting like -1 when i was cranking it..... not sure if i was in ohms setting on multimeter (20K w/ horseshoe symbol )
really know how to check dc volts, other stuff... my reading aren't matching with link??
I was getting 12.5 volts at cdi, without cranking..... never tried it cranking
I guess I need to try that.

I disagree. Tether kill switch should directly ground the ignition kill signal regardless of the LR module.

Check the Black/Yellow wire. Should be grounded at the CDI when lanyard is out, ungrounded when lanyard is in place.

If CDI is allowing ignition (engine start) with the kill wire grounded, then the CDI has a problem.

Without the lanyard in the ski shouldn't even crank should it? I thought that was controlled through the LR

My 2002 Virage TXi will crank without the lanyard.

I would prefer if it did not, of course.
