    Can't pull cylinders off...help.

Was going to pull head and cylinders to see what's going on with this 951 carb'd engine that's been making a knocking sound. So I pull a few parts off, remove head and pry off cylinders. Well, the rear piston dropped right out as I pulled up on the cylinders, but the front piston gets stuck just below the intake ports and won't let me pull the cylinders off. Never head this happen before. Any ideas, broken ring or something hung up.

    How to proceed?

How about the o rings on the cylinder studs? Do you see them and can you remove or lube them in order to slide up the cylinder?

Might take a look in the exhaust and intake ports to be sure ring hasn't been caught in the port.
