    1200r cut off while riding. Starts fine/compression good

    was out riding yesterday, boat was running fine. I was cruising about 40 mph and it just shut off. I let it slow down and fall off its plane, and it restarted fine. I got it back up on a plane and was trying to get back to the dock and less than a minute later it did it again. Same thing, I let it fall off its plane, and restarted it and rode it 10 minutes back to the dock and i stopped/started it again, it seems to be working fine. I got it home, compression is 118 across the board. Cyl 1 and 2 plugs look fine but number 3 looks like this.




    Any ideas? I've heard it can be a motor starting to seize up, im trying to find a bore scope to use

    Pull out cyl #3 and check it. It might be seizing up on you. Happen to me about 5 years ago at mudbug.

    so its just getting hung up and forcing the motor to shut off? how would i be able to tell if thats it? i mean if i get it apart and check it out and it looks okay? then what?

    ive got new pro x pistons in all 3 cyl's, less than 30 hours on all of them. i just stuck a piston in number 1 and had millenium tech redo that one and put a new pro x in that. theres less than 10 hours on that one, would it be worth it to redo the other 2 and put new slugs in there?

    whats that plug look like?

    the same thing happened to you, it just shut off while riding it but would start okay?

    Classic mid-range Lean condition, at 40 mph you are getting hot and it is starting to seize on you.

    what else can cause that though i just had my carbs done by rich, the plugs look fine except for that one. i mean can it be a piston starting to screw up making it get hot and stick?

    no its rejetted, 110 pilot jets 120 main jet, 1.5 Needle and Seat, 95 gram spring , removed chokes, wsm adapters, k&n FA's

    could that plug be not firing? when i plug a spark tester in it and crank the boat it sparks, but could it be cutting out? i plan on riding it with the seat off an inline spark testers soon
