1998 Polaris 1050 slxh stuck on Rev Limiter Setting

    Hey guys,
Not sure where to start but basically my polaris is stuck on the rev limiter setting, have no idea what the problem is. Compression is good, so is gas, and carbs are tuned. I will provide any information needed just not sure where to start, thanks!!

What exactly is this engine doing, or not doing?

Has the electrical box been properly dried out?

Salt water? Any corrosion in the electrical contacts?

The rev limiter setting is stuck on, it wont go higher than 7400. Yes the box has been dried out for months, and it was fresh water. There is no corrosion.

You do understand, in the water, its under WAY more load that the ZERO load its under on shore. A WELL tunded unit will turn a tad more that 6700 rpm in the water while moving. If you are seeing anything above 65-6600 rpm, you are in ok shape. Grab a manual.

Huh...cant say because I dont own a 1050, but my 700, 900 and my 1200's run run ~6700 rpm. Not sure why the 1050 would run slower.
