2002 virage txi 1200 CDI or DI?

Does this model have a CDI or DI? If so or not, a part number?

    Thanks in advance!

(Virage) TXi means Ficht fuel injection, TX means carburetor with CDI ignition

Cool, thanks for that translation. So this has an EMM (what does this stand for?), would you happen to have a part number?

    EMM = Engine Management Module

On a Ficht fuel injected machine the EMM controls almost everything.

EMM part number won't get you all the way to where you think it will. Have a look at my signature links for more info on how the Ficht fuel injection system works. EMM are matched to individual injectors.

Why do you need an EMM? What happened to the original?

I was actually just reading your links. Very informative. I don't have the Ski right now but wanted to look into if it's worth it for me. I'm pretty good with mechanics, just need some place (your write ups) and prices to see.

EMM is most likely still in the ski, but i won't know until I buy it.

Ok, just found out the EMM is not there and missing. What would a good used one cost? Does someone have one here?

If the original EMM is gone, then what you want to buy is a good, working EMM with the three matching fuel injectors. The injectors should be marked by the seller with the cylinder numbers they were removed from.

You then remove and set aside the injectors that came with your engine and install the three purchased injectors. Match the purchased injector markings to the cylinders (number 1 is the front cylinder, also known as the MAG cylinder). The injectors must be installed carefully and torqued evenly to specification.

Install the purchased EMM. You will of course have first checked the water cooling fittings for clogs or corrosion damage, and checked the electrical connectors for pin damage.

The Virage TXi will work with an EMM plus injector set from another Virage TXi, a Genesis i, or an MSX 140. In the case of the MSX 140 EMM I suggest you also buy and install the MSX 140 throttle body assembly.

Note that it is common for the original TPS sensor (on the throttle body rear end) to fail with age and engine vibration, causing all sorts of strange problems. If you are unsure about the TPS you have then plan on replacing it.

Yes, I do have some experience with the TPS's going bad in cars as well. It was actually what I was going to try first but looks like my priorities have changed. Any suggestions on where to get this set?

Ebay. There was a set the other day. Gone now. They are not super easy to come by. Going price for a matched set seems to be around $800.

Well, I bought her. $750 for the Polaris and Galvanized Trailer. Here are some pics and looks like just the EMM is gone but the Injectors are still there, so this does me no good. Am I right that the EMM is located in the front storage area, which is where there are a couple plugs just hanging. Also, what is that lone tube go to? Is there anything else missing? Let me know if you need better angle pics.

I also hooked up a trickle charger and the display lit right up. Does this stay on all the time? If the gauge is correct, I only have 73 hours on the engine. Also, looks a bit corroded in the engine compartment. Is this normal or normal for a ski that has been submerged?
