    What to do next??

Took the 05 gp1300 out today and ran some good numbers I think. (im new to this sport). The engine just got rebuilt and has only 6hrs on it.

    Stock 67.3 mph @7300 rpms
Jims plate 69.8 mph @7330 rpms
    Jims plate + 800 grate 70.3 mph @7350 rpms

Each time was without the bucket, fuel buzzer going off, and superman position.

    70 degrees with 81% humidity

    What would YOU do next?

    7300 rpms huh....

Aftermarket tach reading? Or is that the stock tach?

Sounds a little high for a stock motor wise 1300.

Anyways, nice SPEED numbers. I am assuming you are using GPS. Jim's plates are A+. I would go with truing the hull next so your not working against that brick wall and do an impeller.

I have a Tiny Tach on it. Thats where I got the rpms from, I was told not to trust the liar (stock gauge)

    Yea, that is true!

Those are great rpm numbers. I would throw a 14/20 DY on there asap.

Awesome numbers ! That ski did 66.1 at MB I with 10 hrs on it.
That motor just got a new #3 cylinder, 3 pistons and rings and new gaskets. 100 + hours on the ski.
Definetly time for some prop pitching.
And a compression test, just so you know.
That's forcing me to speed up the wifes ski.

120+ hours on stock prop and wear ring.

The stock 14/20 dynafly is going to be a little tall for this stock motor IMO. We have a 3hr old stock prop off an 06 to try. Then we can check the clearances.

Plus Nick says he bounced a little on top, so dropping the tabs some is the next order of business.

Also getting some more air in the motor via filter and air mods.

V-Force Reeds, compression and a DynaFly 14/20 to start. Probably need an EFI controller at that point. It just might roll the 14/20 with just the reeds. My 1200 turned a 14/20 with ease with 135 pound cranking compression & VF-3's. If your at 7300 rpm's with a 1300 the reeds and impeller will probably do it. Remember rpm's will fall off in hot weather.
