    Dish Network or DirecTV?

Which do you prefer? Which one has the better selection of HD channels?

I had dish for more than three years and had no problems. I wanted to get an upgrade to a tivo or pvr type box. When I called they said I would have to pay around 500 dollars to get a new box. At the same time they were offering new subscribers the same box for less than a hundred dollars. I had never paid a my bill late and had more than fullfiled my one year contract.

I checked with direct and was able to get a two tunner tivo box and one extra box for 50 dollars so I switched to direct. After two years with direct I called to see If I could get an upgrade to a two tunner HD tivo box and they gave me one for just over a hundred dollars plus free showtime and hd for six months.

Both services worked fine and I never had a problem with either one. I think Direct has better customer retention policies than Dish, but maybe dish has changed there policies now.

I think channel wise they are not much different. The fact that direct tv has TIVO is the selling point for me. Life without TIVO is just not worth living IMO...

Dish has the water channel . I just watched 2 shows of war on the water. Jay edworthy took first in his moto, and Mc cluggage in his. amy green won womens 1200 run abouts. These are old re runs. They have boat drags, and C1 racing.. I love it!!
