Thread: Flushing question?

For those of you using the
1. Flushing adapter (P/N 295 500 473)
2. Hose 13mm (1/2 in)
3. Air hose male adapter
from the instructions, to empty out the exhaust manifold (by connecting it to where you connect the water-hose when flushing)..........do you crank the motor back up for a few seconds when you done blowing air through? Just to make sure you dont have a little water sitting in the cylinders from blowing the air in?

i would run the engine while doing this for 15 sec, then no chance forcing residual water anywhere it should not be.
although i dont think its possible to flood the engine with just the air pressure.
before i shut down engine, after water flush hose is off , i always give the throttle a few blips to clear out the waterbox.
i would do this rather than bother with an air hose to push water out of the cooling system.
its the water in the waterbox that will evap and can travel back thru the exhaust system and corrode your engine internals.
also start your ski for 30 sec at least once per week, not on the hose.
and if its going to sit for more than 2 weeks btw rides, fog the engine.
