pulling a 4 tec motor, while its out whats worth doing/checking?

ive got a 2005 rxp with low hours (50) , and it needs a new piston (valves break off on start up)

so while the engine is out what other seals and gaskets or mechanical checks are a must todo?

if i buy a gasket set will it come with everything i need?

the heads sorted (stainless valves etc) and the charger is mint, just been rebuild to the later spec shaft i think.

jetpumps mint too, with solas prop.

im pulling the fuel tank to strengthen the tank feet area (have to pull tank as fuel tank strap plate have pulled away from hull)

    cheers guys.

the heads been welded in work (aerospace welder) the chamber had small impact areas, so had them welded out, and skimmed the head. im yet to put a new set of valves in, but know to a stainless set with new seals, going to get the seats cut for the valves too.

the hull seems real good, but its had the bottom re gel coated, so i guess its had a ding or somthing. the whole underside was re done!

I would check the main and rod bearings while it's out. Just cheap insurance.

New gasket kit will come with way more than you will need. I would put in the new valve stem seals that are supplied in the kit since the head is being done.

Always change bearings crank, rod counterbalance etc never shy away. 3 bond is the ticket for sealing the case back together. Arp flywheel bolts a must. New timming chain. Yes never reuse head bolts if you ever plan on going back through the head I suggest arp head bolts 145.00 online
