Has anyone tried to replace just the electric pump on a DI with lets say a automotive Pump?

Never mind I was able to fix this one I think. All I did was took a screwdriver and pried away the outer shell just enough to take the pressure of the disk and then press it back together its running but haven't water tested yet

95 suzuki samuri pump is virtually identical. Even the fuel sock is the same. You will have to modify the little rubber seat at the bottom but it is no big deal. Pump and sock cost me like $95. Ski has been running fine for 2 years now.

have'nt foung it yet, does it look similar to this, http://www.fuelpumps.com/19901995-su...3l-p-3275.html

Yes looks like that although it appears they have changed the electrical connections. But that is easily modified. As I recall the original pump was a mitsubishi which really had no cross reference. I spent a couple of hours on the internet running the number off the pump and finally came across a vague reference to a suzuki samurai pump. Went to Oreilly's and had them pull one off the shelf and was the same pump. When the pulled the fuel sock for me it was identical to the original. As I said, the ski has been running fine for 2 years now, and sure beat the heck out of paying almost $500 for a factory pump.

The autozone part number is an airtex E2111 and has the original screw on terminals. Prices on them have gone up since I got mine.
