Get a smarter daughter.........sorry I had to say it..... From under engine? Metal coat hanger and try pulling it forward since water is prob in rear. With some stretching and a few scratches I can get almost to center with my hand but it's awkward.....

You might want to put a little more effort into it, if the battery shorts out due to water you will burn a hole into the hull.
If you are 'lucky' it was on, the battery will run down and this won't be an issue.
On the upside..now you have an iSki, take it to a Genius store and see if they can help.

Dropping stuff into these dark caverns is a constant concern.
I was thinking about one of those magnetic iscope flashlights (here)
but I don't know if that would work or not.

I dropped a screw driver in the bottom of mine one time and fortunately was able to reach down on the side and get it out.

I taught my daughter how to replace the spark plugs in one of our FZ's over the weekend.
The first thing I told her was DON'T DROP ANYTHING IN THE HULL.

Might be time for a new iPhone 5, daddy!

Can you get a shop vac in there and suck it up? I bet I could figure a way to get it out if it happened to me. I'm usually good with shit like this.

tilt the trailer back, it should slide back. you can use a mirror, flashlights, a coat hanger.... There are plenty of ways to get it out. I wouldn't give up that easy

+1. This is how I get out tools, nuts, & bolts when I drop them in the hull. Now I always put down a large towel when I work on the ski.
