    Introduction

Hello All, I come from the performance offshore boating world and am new to jetskis. Thinking of purchasing an 08 rxpx to see how I like it. I have rode a 96 xp many years ago. How does the newer ones compare in acceleration as compared to the 96 xp? I know the newer 4-tec obviously has more top end.

I'm with you. I pick up a 2012 RXTX yesterday. Can't wait to rip on this thing, should be a blast!

If you ride in the open ocean a lot, that PWC is not the right one. I ride in mixed conditions...mostly on the smoother side, so the 2012 RXP-X does everything I need. I can go rough with it, but not all the time. The Kawi 260 and 300's own the ocean (by a mile). I used to race PWC's and I went riding in the San Francisco Bay with some non-racers (rec riders). They were able to make me look like a rookie in the ocean with their Kawi. I was standing and they were sitting and passed me really easy.

    You don't want a cow....
Rxtx 255 is the 3 seater and is more stable in rough water and just as fast as the rxpx.
    Depends on your riding style.
I've had both machines and they both are amazing..

Thanks for the replies...the ski will be used for the (cabin) lakes and rivers in MN. The St.Croix has heavy boat traffic but hoping the PX would still be ok in those 1-3 footers.
