Water jacketing turbine housing?
Does anyone have any info they can share about water jacketing a turbine housing?
I have an EFR turbo that I want to get jacketed but I don't want to risk wrecking the housing.
I have the skills to do it but not the knowledge!
What materials are used for the jacket? 316 stainless?
What welding method is used? Tig I assume?
How is distortion/warping controlled?
Are there any other special considerations?
Also, If anyone does this professionally I would appreciate a PM for a price. Could be easier way to go.
Thanks for any information.

so without any testing how are you going to know that your custom water jacket will not cause bearing or turbine clearance problems
and destroy itself and your motor?

I don't expect the pros to give away their secrets, that's why I asked for pricing.
If I can't comfortably do it myself, I'll pay for it to be done or not do it all.

Thanks Sayers, that is just the way I want mine. Did you do yours yourself? If not who did it?

What EFR do you have?
Is it one of the first series?
Is it used?

EFR 6258, I got told it wasn't from the batch that had problems but I guess i'll find out!! It's still new, got it a reasonable price.
Do you know where yours was done?
