Adjusting BOV on Ultra-300x
With relation to this topic - previously posted in a different thread by undoubtedly two of the biggest contributors in our Kawasaki Forum:
I removed the Blow Off Valve (BOV) from the Intercooler, and the OEM setting was approximately as follows:
With relation to what was written previously before by Corey and Mal, I have made adjustments as follows:
The red pointer is used to show the approximate change in thread count.
I am not so certain it is the "tension" on the spring that is changed - with relation to this modification, as it is the "amount" of travel (distance) the Valve is allowed to physically open when the valve is requested to "actuate".
Please advise me if this is "approximately" the correct distance I have closed the BOV's allowable opening travel.
Many Thanks !!!

Nice detail Ed.
From memory (going back almost a year) you're right. It opens less but I recall it was also harder to open it also. I didn't completely close mine but I doubt it would open either. It was easily twice as hard to open.

the shaft that moves the valve is under tension tightening it up, it then required more air pressure to relieve the valve, good work ed im sure you will notice a large difference in acceleration

I noticed my boost on the gauge is down to 13+- and my top end is down. I never really paid attention to the boost gauge but sine the air and water has cooled down I started noticing the Boost is down I just tightened the spring as spooling posted and hope to see a difference. I checked my exhaust filter and it looks good, intercooler not bad oil from fogging. I will check it again when I hit 50 hours. I have taken my time after each ride to flush, fog and burp the throttle...
Question... I noticed while flushing and hitting the throttle the surge valve seems to leak air all the time, does it close under pressure or is it possible this one is leaking as well, any thoughts?

its a bypass valve its meant to leak it closes as rpms increase otherwise your supercharger would work like a workshop compressor lol
