How do seadoo rev limiters work?

When your getting close to the rev limiter, does soft limiter drop fuel to 1 injector ( say #1?) or do it by retarding timing or combination of both. Im all over my limiter and wondering if its causing some quirky problems with logger.

Please no guesses or repeating what you've read ( unless provide a link) only reply if you know definitively.

On our race car the limiter kicks in depending on what chip we use..What it does is cut ignition spark to certain cylinders..

When on the rev limiter you go lean so I say it pulls fuel first
