    Thumbs down ALL 2013 HO 1800 motors...

    I just noticed all 2013 HO 1800 motors come with a plastic intake manifold. What is next plastic pistons????? Julio...

    At least you don't have to worry about it getting heat soaked.

    Don't really see anything wrong with a plastic intake on a N/A engine. Less weight and less heat soak.

    LS/Vortec engines and mod motors have plastic intake manifolds. It reduces heat soak.

    all the heat under the seat and will crack it, Fords used them.........when they cracked the idle would race.....it would cause a ski to run lean and blow up

    I was planing on boosting this motor, I guess I will have to find a 2012 intake. What's one more part...

    I do look forward to cross refference with my VXR data and see if there is any improvements on cooler intake air temps, Julio...

    True----and very successfully since about 1998 on Corvettes, and work reasonably well in aftermarket boosted applications.

    1997, but yes. The factory LS6 intake is the preferred intake for boost. Honestly, if you look at most new cars today, they have composite intakes. Even my Acura has one.

    sea poo has used plastic intakes since the introduction of the 4-tec motor, seems to be working ok there except under really high boost applications
