    oil under/around valve cover screws

I was going to do a leakdown test on my 2002 GTX and went to remove the valve cover bolts and there is oil under them and around them. Is this a sign of something else? I didn't get a chance to finish the leakdown test just yet. Thanks in Advance.

Its not a big deal unless its constantly spewing oil out of there... Its a simple rubber seal.

Could be a sign that they are not tight enough or the rubber gasket seals on the valve cover have started loosing their size/tension and causing this.

Just tighten to spec. (Think its 7 ft/lbs?? from memory-- could be wrong)
If its thread-dead, then you may want to tap some heli coils into the holes.
