    2002 FX140 Engine Out......Now What?

2 years back my beater / loaner had the reduction gear box rebuilt because of internal vibration. The vibration was lessoned, but not eliminated as the flywheel bearing may have had some wear, and I didn't want to go that deep on a 700 hour motor. So, we rode it till it coughed.
Late this summer, the oil alarm started going off occasionally until it just stayed on, and went into limp mode. Still runs idle.
The local dealer's computor diagnostic error codes indicate "crank sensor & overheat".
Also, 2 broken bolts found in bilge. #10 from lower left gear housing. #8 from ?
Pulled motor using online google SBT service manual. Almost totally helpful.

    Now should I:
1: get into it and fix? This will take alot of input for unknowns re which sensors, bearings, etc.

2: replace motor with SBT or Ebay?

3: sell the project ski to one of you guys? I can bring it down to AZ next week.

4: sell the parts? (hull rebuilt with Kevlar, better than OEM)

    Damn Les. 700 hrs.
I aint no expert, but I would think that to rebuild/refresh that motor would not be to bad/expensive. Hell you could probably get another 700hrs out of it. good luck

Thanks for the input friends & Hulksters.
I suppose I could follow the online guides and start rippin' & tearin' as a kind of retirement job.
Be like a bearcub f*ckin' a football though.
Probably undue the oil tank/gear case & drop the bastard on my other toe. (the unmangled one from previous bottle jack drop)
I'll be seeking your expert advice down the road.
Lucky the main moocher (in the pics) is willing to help get his free ride running for next Spring.

OR, if I quit: project ski $1,500, or
complete engine as is $500 needs work obviously,
Kevlar rebuilt hull (from keel crushes) with everything 'cept motor $1,000 (needs matts, reverse bucket gear, & maybe sponsons)

But first I gotta go south for the Winter.

Drivin' bus & toy trailer to AZ Nov.5. Store & fly home for Christmas. Might wrench around a little.
Then fly south for 3 or 4 months Jan to Apr.
Decide for sure when home for spring & summer.
    Stay tuned.
