Gps speedo sender on oem gauge

    Hello,
Just did a test-fit to a friends fzr and turns out it works.
Used this product : http://hmbe.com.au/products/gps-speed-sender and just wired it in place of the oem speedo. With the calibration utility I got it reading 57 Km/h (should have been 60).
Anyway , it works , it picks up gps signal pretty fast and it`s mounted under the steering wheel , inside the hull and even so picks up satelites.
A good (but pricy) alternative to have your ski show true speed on the oem dash.

Yeah . I`m saying that the calibration dial to the max and it doesn`t give the correct pulse for 60km/H . A little more tweaking will get you home .

My dial ? no , it reads km/h on the ext and mph on the interior. (that`s the oem dash , the speedo sender is just a black box with 4 wires sticking out) .

Oh yea, not sure what I was thinking there........
Is it safe to assume any device like this would work? I would hate to see shipping from Australia to me.
When you say some more tweaking to get right what exactly do you mean? Different mounting location?

I mean playing with the variable resistor that sets the ppk (pulses per kilometer) rate. The stock one is a 0-47kohm variable resistor that I added 3k to get to 50k ohm but I guess it didn`t do the trick .
They (hummingbird) would probably be able to get it right if somebody told them exactly what was needed.
Mine is fitted in a crappy location and still picks up sattelites for gps .

I see what you're saying but you'd still be left with an inaccurate OEM speedo, for someone that wants an accurate one this seems like a cool addon if the pulse calibration were worked out.
