Taking the head off a 02 Virage 1200 TXi?

One of the screw that hold down the FI broke off inside the last piston head. For what I would pay to take it off and go to a mahineshop to have it taken out I think I could by a good used one for less. Is there a sequence to take the head off? I know the water rail and coil but do I need to remove the head bolts in a order? Once the head is off do I need to buy a new gasket? Do I need the one for the rear head or do I need it for the water rail also?

    Any tips would be great.

just take the head off, no order to remove.... when applying you go side to side to tork
should just be orings in head not gaskets, head cover has gaskets, my experience they are normal good
probably should be able to reuse what you got, unless damaged
also alum bolt should be easy to drill and easy out, and put back together
if you need one, i have one for sale

I suggest you get new head o-rings and cover gasket. Just less trouble than 'hoping' nothing leaks after you get it back together.

When you remove the water bar the old gaskets may tear on one or all the heads, so just plan to replace all three of those.

The fuel injector bolts are stainless steel I think, and are known to sometimes break. Not often, but it happens.

Follow the recommended torque sequence and do not over torque the head bolts.

Be sure the injector bolts are evenly snugged down to keep the injector centered in the bore. Do not over tighten the injector bolts.
