    Stripped

I tried an easy-out but that bugger is in there tight. Thought if I could heat it up it might loosen.
Any suggestions? Anyone know where to get a replacement?

    Thanks!

Drill the head off than remove plate... Than use vise grips.

A good pair of vice grips on the head of the screw usually works. In the future always start with an impact driver before you strip the head.

Or slot it with a dremel and use a screwdriver

This is what you want to do. You may still be able to get it out with an impact screw driver if not vice grips will do it. Goodluck

    Bruce,

Rich (WFO) would probably have some screws to send you.

When I take those screws out I clamp a vise grip on the phillips, put as much weight as I can on the end of the screwdriver and turn the vise grip. Works every time.

Thanks for the suggestions. The head was already stripped by the previous owner. I do have a pair of needle-nose vice grips I can try. I also have
an impact drill. The hard part is getting enough downward pressure. Will try a smaller diameter ez-out and drill deeper into the screw. Or try to cut a
deeper slot using a dremel. Will talk to the local HD shop mechanics to see if they have a replacement. Had a 42MM Mikuni on my old evo 1340.
How would I contact Rich at WFO?

If all else fails you could get a nut and weld the inside of the hex nut to the broken bolt and then use a wrench to back it out.

Got a better ez-out set and was able to get it out. Guess what I found inside? 4 more stripped screw heads! The one that
held the needle-seat was so stripped and corroded it broke apart when I put the drill to it. The one that holds the spring-arm, the two screws for the valve body...holy crap! Who butchered this thing? Wonder what I'll find in the other two carbs?
