Thread: adjustable nozzle

I was thinking we need an adjustable variable size nozzle that could go from like 90mm down to 80mm or more
has any one ever heard or seen such a thing
my vision is a multi-leaf nozzle with a sliding ring to change the outlet size
it could make a good hole shot and a way to change top speed rpms

JD1 AKA (Jetdraft) had played with adjustable nozzles, and as you can see they are not on the market anymore...

Turkey feathers with an moving ring, changing rear exit diam on sort of springy stainless steel leafs or turkey feathers... whatever you want to call them
1 bloke down here worked with them too, for the added weight, activation, cost....
Worked out to be totally not worth the advantages.
Think he was seeing too much cavitation on full open for them to be affective using standard prop designs.
