    Front Hood Won't Stay Open

    Hi guys,
Took MY 08 RXT-X out 2 days ago and when I got home to clean it I noticed the front hood struggled to open,
I would have to hold it up to keep it open but if I let go it would want to close. There is nothing loose, nothing
has popped off anywhere so I'm guessing it's just the gas shock assembly. I was able to take the shock out and noticed
it was not able to spring up and down, so I'm guessing this may be the problem and need to be replaced.
Still learning a lot about my ski and don't want to buy the wrong thing, so can someone confirm that it needs to be replace
    or offer advice?

    Thanks.

With the gas strut removed, if the hood moves up and down smoothly then you can say the hinge mechanism is all ok.

After that it can only be the gas strut - Part number 269501167

Go to http://www.seadoopartscentral.com/fiche_select.asp for a parts picture

It moves up and down and everything else seems fine but you have to give it a bit of a push to get it up. Gas strut is the same
as gas shock assembly right? I've been using seadoowharehouse.com website to find out info on parts

Dont know if you have NAPA auto parts stores there, but you can get one from them. Its what I used and it was cheaper.
    NAPA Turbolift part number 819-5586.

    Hi again,
Got a new gas shock today from my dealer, when I got home from work to put it on I noticed it was pretty hard to push
down on the shock to align it to the ball studs, it seems locked in position. Is there something I'm supposed to do to unlock
so it goes up and down?

Thanks for your help so far guys..
