    Mid Pipe Damage

I found some pitting on the inside of a Midpipe set up I just bought,
It looks to be almost thru to the outside wall,
this is my first mid pipe set up, is this normal?

Looks like it was an air pocket that got caught in the casting process. The outer side of the pipe is drenched in water, while the inner is direct gas. It looks like it heated up and POPPED on that side. Something like that would happen within the first hour of its running life, so if it hasn't burned through then it will be fine. It can't be welded because its "pot metal", so it has small air pockets in it that will explode if you try to weld it...
