    1995 sl750 fuel pump

i just got a 95 750 with a weird fuel pump that is electric and has a switch and i was wondering if i should switch it out or if this is better than a regular pulse pump.

Wierd. I believe in the notion that Polaris Engineering did what they did for a reason. The motor was engineering with a carb and fuel system in mind. To change the basic operation could throw the whole thing out of whack. The electrical system is surely not sized to operate an electric fuel pump full time either. Not sure how this would be beneficial. In addition, I would think an electric pump would increase fuel pressure at the carb inlet and possibly cause issues with the pop off setting in the carbs and lead to leaking etc..... It would just keep pumping until the pressure reached the pumps limit? Just thinking out loud here.....

Pull it out and go to a pulse unit. As BFC mentioned, the eletrical system is not sized for it and Im sure this setup is not Coast Guard approved. The pumps are cheap.

The factory pump provides variable pressure, as where the electrical pump provides a constant pressure.

three outlet 35 L/hr pump is recommended for the stock 650/750's.

Not very expensive, and the Watcon kit comes with most of what you'll need: http://watcon.com/Catalog_Pages/Trip...mp_Upgrade.htm
